The state government decided to use the election roles in the State for the conduct of social and educational survey (census) for 15 days from 22 September.
The Karnataka Class Commission was looking for a government permit to comply with the survey procedure.
Karnataka Cabinet approved the way of using electoral roles in the State to conduct a survey using digital technology.
At a press conference after the cabinet meeting, the Minister of Laws and Parliamentary affairs, HK Patil said that the survey would be carried out in digital format. Development and supervision of digital survey software would be conducted by the Electronic Administration Department.
He said that a publicly available election role was used by the HN Nagamohan DAS HN for an internal reservation for 101 planned castes in the state for each person over six.
Similarly, the Commission for Back Classes would accept the HN Nagamohan Das Commission and conducted the survey, said Patil.
50% quota to go
Mr. Patil said that the cabinet decided to remove a compulsory 50% quota for community students in Muslim minority educational institutions. Universities and technical educational institutions operated by non -Muslim minority management would not require registration of 50% of students from their own community to obtain minority status.
This step was to support communities such as Christians, Jains, Sikhs and Parsis, who tried to meet 50% threshold because of their relatively small population in the state.
Among other things, the Cabinet was approved by 171.91 Crore as part of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Rural Development Infrastructure (RIDF) for 13 cold compositions of agriculture. The state insurance company Karnataka also approved according to the instructions for the state insurance company of employees.
