An elderly woman from Porandla village in Thimmapur mandal, worried about the alleged delay in registering her late husband’s agricultural land in her name, knocked on the door of the district administration on Monday.
The woman, identified as K. Lakshmi, submitted her petition to Collector Chitra Mishra during Prajavani, a weekly grievance redressal meeting, at the Collectorate on Monday.
In her petition, she claimed that her request to transfer her late husband Raji Reddy’s three-and-a-half acre agricultural land in her name was discussed at length with the officials concerned.
She regretted that despite several visits to the mandal Tahsildar office, her request remained unresolved.
According to sources, she suddenly tried to touch the Collector’s feet while seeking her intervention to resolve her grievance.
The Collector has reportedly asked the officials concerned to resolve her complaint without delay.
Sources added that around 225 petitions were received during the weekly meeting on Monday for redressal of grievances.
