A 74-year-old woman, who was found injured at Secunderabad railway station last month, died on Saturday (December 27, 2025) while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. The deceased has been identified as Poonuru Vijayalakshmi, a housewife and a resident of Fatehnagar in Sanathnagar.
According to the police, Vijayalakshmi was found injured near gate number 2 of the Secunderabad railway station on November 11. The Deputy Public Warden of the station was informed about the incident, who alerted the Secunderabad Government Railway Police. She was immediately taken to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. Around 3 pm on December 27, she succumbed.
The hospital management informed the police about her death, after which the officials kept the body in the hospital morgue for autopsy and relatives were informed. If no relative comes forward, the body will be handed over to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation after completing the required formalities.
