The art exhibition entitled “You could not save, walk with me – Svoboda, Gandhi, 169 days” will begin on August 9 at 17:30, end India Day, in Kerala Lithakala Courtyard in Thrissur.
The exhibition is a creative response to the journey made by Sudheesh Ezhuth, the poet PN Gopikrishnan and Painter Murali Cheroth. They traveled Noakhali, Bihar, Delhi and Kolkata, watched the path of Gandhi’s historical resistance and gathered materials for the exhibition.
Murali Cheroth and Human Geographer Jayaraj Sundaresan curate an exhibition that integrates photographs, poems and various forms of visual and sound art. During the whole exhibition, which takes place until 18 August, lectures and cultural programs will take place every evening.
The classic singer Kalapini Krkali and Keral Kalamandalam singers will sing songs related to Gandhi’s life on different days.
The main reason for the exhibition is to realize that the study and discussion of the politics and practice of Gandhi’s resistance to communalism can provide great energy and inspiration to overcome the problems faced by the current Indian society, according to a democratic secular team, the Samadarshi alliance based on Thrissur and several other cultural organizations and individuals they organize.
