SRIKAKULAM:
Teacher Y. Sujatha was on Tuesday suspended indefinitely for her alleged misbehavior in the classroom after a video surfaced of her forcing two students to massage her feet a few days ago.
The teacher, posted at a tribal government school in Bandapalli village of Meliyaputti mandal in Srikakulam district, faced sharp criticism from people once the video went viral. In the footage, she is said to be seen sitting in an inappropriate manner and directing students to massage her legs.
The Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Seethampeta Project Director, Pawar Swapnil Jagannath, issued the suspension order under the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services Rules-1991. The warrant cited her derogatory behavior toward students, use of a cell phone during class and inappropriate seating — stretching her legs and forcing students to massage their feet were cited as immediate reasons for her suspension.
She was ordered not to leave headquarters until the investigation into the incident was completed.
