The Thanjavur Taluk was arrested by Panneerselvam of Surakottai near Thanjavur for charging the “abuse” of the police officer.
According to sources, the crime was committed in Surakotta on Friday, when the main constitution at the Police Station in Orathanad challenged a group that captured a private bus where it traveled to Thanjavur.
When the members of the group argued with the crew of buses and condemned them for overtaking the funeral procession in Surakottai on the same day, she tried to calm the members of the group who were under the influence of alcohol.
Two people identified as Panneerselvam and Rahul Gandhi of Surakottai abused her and was recorded on her mobile phone Constable. Later she filed a complaint against the police Thanjavur Taluk, who registered the case on Saturday and arrested Panneerselvam on Saturday. Police are looking for Rahul Gandhi, the sources added.
