
A flight with about 280 passengers bound for Abu Dhabi was grounded on Tuesday after a “fire” on the left wing, Chennai airport officials said.
The Etihad flight was preparing to take off when the pilots noticed the fire. Subsequently, all passengers were safely disembarked and no one was injured, officials added.
The fire was immediately extinguished by members of the HZS and the flight was cancelled.
Etihad Airways could not immediately be reached for comment.
