AMUDA jurisdiction extended to 1,765 km2 in dist. Konaseema.

The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department has expanded the jurisdiction of the Amalapuram Urban Development Authority (AMUDA) from 896 sq km to 1,765 sq km by including Ramachandrapuram municipality and five mandals under the municipal body limits in the district of Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema. GO. No. 203 was issued to extend the scope of AMUDA.

“Ramachandrapuram village and five mandals – Ravulapalem, Atreyapuram, Alamuru, K. Gangavaram and Ramachandrapuram – are now part of AMUDA,” said AMUDA chairman Allada Swamy Naidu.

In March 2023, AMUDA was established with 120 revenue villages and two urban local bodies – Amalapuram Municipality and Mummudivaram with headquarters in Amalapuram, with a total population of 7.09 lakh. Now as many as 272 revenue villages come under AMUDA limits.
