
Former head of Niti Aayog and Indian G20 Sherpa, Amitabh Kant resigned from the post and launched a new journey “after 45 years of dedicated government service”, said June 16 in a social media post.
“My new way: After 45 years of devoted government service, I decided to accept new opportunities and move forward in my life. I decided to accept new opportunities and move forward in my life,” he said.

Writing on the X -Social Media Platform (formerly Twitter) also expressed thank you: “I am an incredibly grateful to the Prime Minister of India for accepting my resignation as the G20 Sherpa and for giving me the opportunity to manage a number of developmental initiatives and contribute to growth, development and progress in India.
“Now I’m looking forward to the contribution to the Indian transformation trip to Viksit Bharat by facilitating and supporting the free enterprise, startups, Think tanks and academic institutions. Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey,” he added to X.
On the Indian Presidency of G20…
In another longer post on the professional website of Linkedin network pages, Amitabh Kant wrote about his experience during the G20 Indian Presidency in 2023 and his possession of the CEO of the Aayog Niti Commission.
“The leadership of the Indian G20 in 2023 was an important milestone in my career. Despite the complex global challenges, we achieved a unanimous consensus of the Delhi’s leaders’ statement and focused on key development issues,” Kant said.
He added that the G20 Indian Presidency was “focused on people and inclusive” and strengthened “cooperative federalism, celebrated local culture and improved nationwide infrastructure”.
“We also successfully ensured the integration of the African Union into the G20, fulfilled the Indian commitment to global capital and the voice of the global south,” he added.
