Amit Shah will visit the border areas in the next three weeks

Starting from Rajasthan on Tuesday (May 26, 2026), Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the country’s border areas over the next three weeks, a government official said.
Mr. Shah is expected to review the security situation with officials of the state government and the Border Security Force (BSF) during his visits to border posts along the Pakistan and Bangladesh borders.
Mr Shah arrived in Rajasthan’s Bikaner on Monday evening. On Tuesday, she will visit the BSF border outpost at Sanch where she will attend a ‘Prahari Sammelan’ and virtually inaugurate a barracks for women personnel. He will discuss border security with senior BSF officers in Bikaner later in the day. Representatives of the Union Home Ministry and senior officials from the five districts that share a border with Pakistan will also attend the meeting, the official said.
Mr. Shah will travel to Bhuj in Gujarat on May 29, where he is scheduled to visit another BSF border post.
In June, the minister is likely to visit border areas along the Bangladesh border, starting with Tripura on June 5, followed by a visit to West Bengal around June 15, the official added.
On 22 May, Mr Shah said that the “Smart Border Concept” would soon be unveiled to make the Pakistan-Bangladesh border “inaccessible”. Equipped with drones, radars, cameras and other technical means, the project is expected to fill gaps in border security.
The minister said that a high powered demographic mission to identify infiltration routes and provide information to the BSF will be announced soon.
