The Minister of the Interior of the Union AMIT Shah on Friday (May 16, 2025) launched a redesigned Multi Agency Center (Mac), a common grid against terrorism under the intelligence office (IB), which was conceptualized in 2001 after the war Kargil. The new Mac network combines all police districts in the country through a secure network and was built at the price of 500 Crore.
The statement of the Ministry of the Interior of the Union said “The new Mac will lead a long way to fight the terrorist ecosystem that has complex ties with organized crime.”
The platform includes up to 28 organizations, including the research and analysis of the wing (RAW), armed forces and state police and various security agencies share intelligence intelligence in real time on Mac.
On this occasion, Mr. Shah said that the Sindoor operation was a unique symbol of the firm political will of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accurate information about intelligence agencies and an infallible strike capacity of the three armed forces. He said India was proud of his three armed forces, border security forces and all security agencies.
He recently spoke of historical anti-naxal operations performed by central armed police forces (CAPF) in the hills of Karregattal (KGH) on the edge of Chhattisgarh-Telangana, Mr. Shah said that operations against Maoists show excellent coordination between security forces.
Empty, integrated platform: Shah
The Minister said that the new Mac will provide trouble -free and integrated platform for synergizing the efforts of all agencies in solving complex and interconnected problems of national security. He said the network would strengthen the country’s efforts to deal with serious threats such as terrorism, extremism, organized crime and cyber attacks.
He said that hardware and software -related tasks were completed in record time. He added that it includes futuristic abilities, such as embedded artificial intelligence/ machine learning techniques to use the potential of a large database with MAC services and a geographical information system (GIS).
Mr. Shah also laid the future travel map by emphasizing the need to integrate other important databases located with different central agencies in different forces, on this platform for using advanced data analysis provided with the new Mac. The Minister said that data analysis generated in the MAC network will be upgraded to a higher level, allowing precise trends analysis, hotspot mapping and time -analysis to provide predictive and operational results.
