On a hot, steamy weekend evening in Chennai, crowds swelled as Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah began his roadshow in Mylapore to campaign for candidates contesting the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
At 7 pm on Sunday, Amit Shah drove in a campaign vehicle and waved to people as they chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. Mylapore BJP candidate Tamilisai Soundararajan, AIADMK Thousand Lights candidate B. Valarmathi and AIADMK Velachery candidate MK Ashok also waved to the people of Mylapore near the Kapaleeshwarar temple.
