Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday inaugurated a water ATM and other development projects at an unauthorized colony in the Shalimar Bagh area.
During the event, CM Gupta said that the government is working 24/7 to ensure drinking water to every resident of the city.
“This is the first of its kind big water ATM which will provide 30 liters of pure drinking water daily for RO. Today you have a government which is taking up so many projects to develop unauthorized colonies and Jhuggis,” Gupta said while addressing the public.
The Chief Minister also said that the government is working to provide Pucca homes to all Jhuggis in unauthorized colonies.
“The day will come when every jhuggi resident in Delhi will have a pucca house. I will work round the clock for this. Delhi has around 700 jhuggi clusters where thousands of people live,” she added.
Around eight water ATMs have been installed in the entire CM Shalimar Bagh Assembly which is part of Indian Oil Company’s CSR initiative.
The CM also asked residents of unauthorized colonies not to set up new jhuggis that block roads and cause problems to others.
