US war on Iran LIVE: President Donald Trump is unhappy with Iran’s latest proposals for not addressing its nuclear program, US official. “He doesn’t like the proposal,” the official told Reuters, referring to Trump.
Meanwhile, Iranian sources said, Reuters reported, that the proposal would delay discussion of Iran’s nuclear program until the war ends and disputes over shipping from the Persian Gulf are resolved.

Diplomatic efforts to end the Iran war hit another hurdle at the weekend as both sides remained firm on their demands.
Iran has said it will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz unless the United States lifts the blockade and ends the war. Trump wants a broader deal that would end Iran’s nuclear program and address other issues such as its missile program and support for regional proxies. Meanwhile, the continued closure of the strait has caused gas prices to soar and could cause further damage to the global economy.
Iran’s latest proposal postponed talks on its nuclear program. Instead, according to two regional officials, the AP reported, the proposed deal would allow Tehran to lift its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for Washington ending its naval blockade of Iranian ports along with securing a long-term — or even permanent — ceasefire.
The proposal also doesn’t address the main problem Trump cited when he began bombing on Feb. 28 — finding a way to ensure Iran can’t build a nuclear weapon. He also appears to be silent on other important issues, such as Iran’s missile program and its support for proxies in the region.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared to rule out any deal that would exclude Iran’s nuclear program, telling Fox News in an interview on Monday: “We can’t let them get away with it.
“We have to make sure that any deal, any deal that’s done, is one that definitively prevents them from sprinting toward a nuclear weapon,” Rubio said.
