In the middle of this, we look at the message for sending messages – signal. Is it safe and safe to use for sensitive discussions? Can it be attacked? Is it used by any other governments? And who owns the application?
About the signal – what is the application?
It is an application that can be used for direct sending of messages and group cottages as well as for telephone and video calls.
The signal uses end-to-end encryption for its message and call services that prevents any third party from viewing the content of conversation or to listen to calls.
In other words, messages and calls sent to the signal are mixed and only the sender and the recipient at each end will have the key to decrypting them.
The signal encryption protocol is open source, which means it is freely available for anyone to control, use or modify. The encryption protocol also uses another popular chat service, the WhatsApp platform on the META social media.
Signal encryption is turned on by default, unlike another popular message application, a telegram that requires users to turn it on and doubt it for group cottages.
The signal has functions that are found in other messaging applications. It allows users to host group cottages with up to 1,000 people and messages can be set to automatically disappear after a certain time.

The Origins application dates back to more than ten years, when it was established by an entrepreneur called Moxie Marlinspike, who was briefly the Twitter Product Security Management after he sold social media’s mobile security.
Marlinspike merged two existing applications with an open source code, one for text messages and one for voice calls to create a signal.
