
The US Army temporarily deploys 700 marines in Los Angeles, according to the official quoted by Reuters. The deployment to strengthen the forces of the National Guard already on Earth indicates the rare use of soldiers active for domestic unrest.
“This violence I have seen is disgusting,” said LAPD chief Jim McDonnell. “If we look at violence tonight, I think we have to reconsider.”
Newsom slams the federal overlap
California leaders, including Governor Gavin Newsom, sentenced President Donald Trump’s step and called him unconstitutional and authoritarian.
“This is a crisis made,” Newsom wrote on X. “He creates fear and terror to take over the state militia and violate the US Institute.”
Newsom announced plans to bring an action against Trump’s administration of what it calls the “unlawful” deployment of the National Guard soldiers to Los Angeles.
“This is a serious violation of state sovereignty – ignition of tension and at the same time pulling out sources from where they are really needed,” Said Newsom In the post on the X. “Cancel the order. Return check to California.”
In a formal letter of Defense Minister Pete HegSeth, Newsom demanded an immediate return of soldiers and claimed that local enforcement of law had sufficient sources to maintain order.
“Currently, the coercive bodies from the city and the Los Angeles Region protect public security,” he read the letter, quoting a robust response to protests on Saturday evening.
Trump firing back: “Bring soldiers”
President Trump urged aggressive enforcement and even suggested that California governor be arrested.
“I would do it if I were Tom,” Trump said as he asked if his immigration tsar should arrest the newsome.
In a contribution to the social truth, Trump called the protests “migration migrants” and claimed that Los Angeles was “attacked and occupied by illegal aliens and criminals”.
Military provides federal buildings
On Sunday, Northern Command, USA, confirmed that 300 National Guard soldiers were located at key points in the LA area, including the federal building of Edward R. Roybal, where the detention facility in the heart of the controversy is located.

The riots were not limited to Los Angeles. In San Francisco, 60 protesters were arrested on Sunday evening after the demonstration became violent near the ice office.
“Everyone has the right to protest peacefully,” said San Francisco Mayor Daniel Luria, “but we will never tolerate violent and destructive behavior.”
