American citizen found dead in Gachibowli hotel room

American citizen Mitchell Brian Lee, 41, was found dead in his hotel room at the Marriott Executive Apartments in Gachibowli on Thursday (November 6, 2026) evening.

Lee, a resident of California, arrived in Hyderabad on November 2 along with his business partner David Wu for professional work. Both were accommodated in a hotel at Terminus SLN.

According to police, Lee has not responded to calls since the evening of Nov. 4. When no one answered, hotel staff opened the door to his room number 1218 on the 12th floor around 6:30 p.m. on November 5 and found him lying unconscious on the bed.

The hotel staff alerted the emergency services. Ambulance 108 arrived at the scene and confirmed that he had died. The Gachibowli police subsequently reached the hotel, inspected the room and started an investigation.

The cause of death has not yet been determined. Police said a decision would be made based on the post-mortem report and further investigation. All angles are explored.
