
US President Donald Trump warned on Monday that countries depositing digital taxes on American technology companies could face “other tariffs” to export to the United States if they do not take such laws.

“With this truth, I have given all countries with digital taxes, legislation, rules or regulations to notice that if these discriminatory measures are not removed, I as president of the United States will mention considerable other tariffs to export this country to the US and introduce exports to our highly protected technologies and chips.
In Trump, he claimed that such legislation was “designed to damage or discriminate against American technology” and that it provided companies from an American technical opponent in China.
Previously, sources told Reuters that Trump’s administration would consider potential sanctions against European Union officials or representatives of Member States involved in the enforcement of the Act on the Orientation points of the block.
Several countries, especially in Europe, have saved taxes on the income of the main digital services, such as Alphabet’s Google, Facebook, Apple and Amazon. These digital taxes were a permanent point of tension in US business relations across different administrations.
Trump also previously threatened to store tariffs on countries such as Canada and France, for differences related to digital services.
In February, Trump ordered his business manager to revive an investigation aimed at introducing tariffs for imports from countries collecting digital services to American Technology Society.
