
The American dream has ended, at least for now, for Ananya Joshi, an Indian professional who recorded his job search online. After months of unsuccessful applications, the United States left after the release of Joshi. 29. September shared the emotional video of Instagram and captured her tear farewell as she started her flight.
Joshi called the departure “by far the hardest step” on her way and expressed the deep gratitude of the US, which she described as her “first home” as a financial independent adult. “Although short -term, I really appreciate the life you gave me, America. I love you,” she wrote in the headline.
Joshi, a graduate of Northwestern University from 2024 with a master’s degree in Biotechnology, gained work experience on biotechnology launch as part of the F-1 Optional Practical Training Program (OP). At the beginning of this year, however, it was released and, despite months of requests and interviews, could not provide a new role in the required time framework.

In Linkedin, four months ago, she explained her situation: “I was released from my previous role as part of a nationwide reduction. There is certainly an urgency because my clock opt ticks and I have to secure the role in the next month to stay in the US.”
Joshi could not expand her stay and now returned home, although her recent posts indicate possible plans to explore opportunities in Dubai. While many social media users have empty of its suffering, some questioned its decision to fly the first class.
The user wrote: “He let the American dream chase the Dubai dream and cry in the first class, such a hard life.”
Another user wrote: “Watching your video had me in tears because it reminded me of the time last year, I left states, pain, tears. I understand how hard it must be for you.
“Being this privileged and crying in the Etihad business class is such a fight,” wrote the third user.

The OPT program allows foreign students in the US on F-1 visas to work in its chosen field for up to 12 months, with an extension available for STEM graduates.
