Ambati Rambabu was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days

February 2, 2026

A court on Sunday granted 14-day judicial custody to former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Ambati Rambabu. The police produced him before the court late at night.

The Nallapad police arrested Mr. Rambaba on Saturday evening following complaints filed by Telugu Desam Party leaders and a sub-inspector. The complaints alleged that the YSRCP leader used abusive language against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and obstructed the police in the discharge of their duties.

The police had earlier subjected the former minister to a medical examination before taking him to court. He will be taken to Rajamahendravaram Central Jail.
