Mumbai’s Rameshwaram cafe has been in the limelight ever since India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani and his family went out for a meal at the South Indian restaurant. Bypassing the long queue outside the restaurant, the Reliance Industries chairman visited the Churchgate restaurant with his son Anant and daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant earlier this week.
In the video, the presence of the Ambani family seems to have overwhelmed Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor’s fans. The video was shared on Sunday by Mumbai-based content creator Prafful Paithane, who was among those who were in the cafe at the same time the Ambanis entered.
The caption of the viral video reads, “Just a normal day in Mumbai where we randomly meet Janhvi Kapoor and Radhika Ambani, Anant Ambani, Mukesh Ambani.
The video shows several cars lined up outside the Rameshwaram cafe in Mumbai’s Churchgate area, which was part of the Ambani family’s convoy. Dressed simply in black trousers and a beige shirt, Mukesh Ambani can step into the iconic restaurant surrounded by security personnel. The high-profile billionaire greeted the crowd with clasped hands who had gathered to catch a glimpse of India’s richest man.
Reaction on social networks
This video has accumulated more than 1.7 thousand views and several comments. One user asked: “Just curious… did the Ambanis also wander around with plates looking for a seat or did they stand and eat the food?”
Another user commented: “I saw a post a few days ago about how this cafe democratized wait times and service only to pull it now.”
A third user asked, “Was it Jr. NTR at the very end…”
A fourth user wrote: “No seating area?”
A fifth user asked, “How long did you wait in line” To which the vlogger replied that due to the presence of the Ambani family and Janhvi Kapoor, the waiting time was “longer than usual. Because they reserved the upper deck. But if you go on a normal day, 30 minutes.”
