
The Government of the Jamm and Kashmir government declared AMARNATH YATRA routes as a “flying zone” within the increased security measures for the annual pilgrimage, the State Ministry of the Interior said.
“The statement of the flying zones of 16 June states that various safety measures are carried out for smooth and peaceful behavior of the upcoming AMARNATH YATRA 2025. The pilgrim is scheduled from 3 to August 8, 2025.
Where are “no flying zones”?
He added that the Ministry of the Interior advised that the entire AMARNATH YATRA route was declared a “no flying zone” with effect from 1 July to 10 August 2025.
AmarNath Yatra has two routes – the panelgam axis and the Baltal axis and the announcement states that “flying of any types of aerial platforms and equipment, including UAVs, drones, balloons, etc., is forbidden from 1 July to August 10, 2025”.
Are there any exceptions?
According to the notice, these restrictions will not apply in cases of medical evacuation, disaster management and supervision of security forces. He added that a detailed SOP would be issued for such exceptions.

Amarnath Yatra attracts thousands of pilgrims from all over the country for a year who, according to the PTI report, embarks either on a traditional Pahalgam route or a shorter Baltal route. For the first time, the duration will be shortened to 38 days and added security.
