
AMARNATH YATRA begins: State oil and natural gas Corporation LTD (ONGC) has established a permanent complex for managing disasters in Baltal, Ganderball district in Jammu and Kashmir for pilgrims who undertook AMARNATH YATRA. This complex for managing disasters and the Yatri Niwas complex will be functional on Friday, the company said in its statement.
OnGC develops these complexes at four key points – Baltal, Nunwan, Bijbehara and Sidhra – in Jammu and Kashmir, as part of the Social Responsibility initiative (CSR) (CSR)
AMARNATH YATRA begins
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha described the first batch of pilgrims for Amarnath Yatra from Jammu 2 July.

The first dose of pilgrims set out from Lakhanpur to Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu in the middle of tight security measures, which meant the official beginning of AMARNAT YATRA 2025.
Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu serves as a primary base camp for pilgrims from all over the country before advanced to the cave sanctuary of Amarnath set in the majestic Himalayas in South Kashmir.
“The Baltal Yatri Niwas complex and disasters, extended by 6,315 square meters, are now fully functional and include Yatri Niwas, VIP pension, security infrastructure and reaction equipment,” said OnGC spokesman.
38-day pilgrimage to 3,880 meters high shrine will start 3 July from the valley through the double track-tradation 48 kilometers nunwan-pahalgam routes in the anantnag district and shorter 14 kilometers on the Ganderbal route. Yatra will end on August 9th.
The spokesman of Ongc added that Baltal will formally ceremonially launched 4 July.

The equipment is currently set up in Nunwan in the Anantnag district, measuring 8,500 square meters and in Bijbehara in Anantnag (7 640 m2). Both pages are expected to be completed by September 2025, he said.
The Sidhra complex in Jammu, designed to serve as a vital center for starting, emergency management and logistics coordination, is focused on completion by September 2026.
These facilities will be operated by the Amarnath Council under the rule of Jammu and Kashmir, the spokesman said, adding that it would provide safe accommodation, hygiene and emergency support to people who perform AmarNath Yatra, adding that more than five lamps do it every year.

This permanent infrastructure will also benefit the local population throughout the year, the spokesman added.
Baltal facilities ensure safe accommodation, hygiene and emergency support to people who perform AMARNATH YATRA.
According to officials, up to 3,31,000 devotees have so far registered for this year’s Yatra. The registration of devotees on the spot also began.
