Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman K. Madhu Murthy on Friday said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had spearheaded the development of Amaravati as a quantum valley.
“The relentless efforts of the government to build a sustainable quantum ecosystem will benefit not only the youth but also the future generations,” he said at the grand finale of Amaravati Quantum Valley Hackathon-2025 (AQVH 2025) at Dhanekula Institute of Engineering and Technology (DIET) in Ganguru near Vijayawada.
Institute Director DKRK Raviprasad said the event is aimed at promoting innovation and enhancing students’ skills in cutting-edge areas such as quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum machine learning and optimization.
The competition featured 10 major quantum topics, including quantum random number generator, quantum key distribution, quantum state visualization, quantum chemistry, quantum machine learning and logistics optimization. Students demonstrated functional prototypes, quantum circuits, simulators, dashboards and optimization models.
Approximately 50,000 students from six states participated in the hackathon. After their projects were evaluated, the top 100 finalist teams were selected for the national Grand Final. Each team consists of six members, resulting in 600 young innovators showcasing their talents.
The winners will receive a cash prize of ₹50,000 per issue statement, while the runners-up will be awarded ₹30,000 along with recognition and certificates at the national level. The awards will be presented during the foundation stone laying ceremony at Amaravati Quantum Valley attended by the Chief Minister on Saturday.
Among those who participated in the event were Head, National Quantum Mission (NQM) JBV Reddy, Former Head, Quantum India, IBM L. Venkata Subramanyam, Head TCS as well as Head CV Amaravati Quantum Valley Sridhar, P. Emmanuel of MNIT-ECIT Academy, Jaipur and Dinakar of IBM-QISKIT, BengalurQISKIT.
