Alyssa Healy continued her fine form at the 2025 Women’s World Cup and set a new record when she scored her second successive tournament century on Thursday 16 October. The Australian skipper thrashed the Bangladeshi bowlers with a sensational innings of 113 off 77 balls to remain unbeaten. leading her side home to a ten-wicket win.
Bangladesh, who won the toss and elected to bat first, could only score 198 for nine in their 50 overs thanks to disciplined performances from Alana King, Annabel Sutherland, Ash Gardner and Georgia Wareham, who all took two wickets. Healy started where she left against India and went on to play incredible strokes across the country. Her innings consisted of 20 boundaries and stitched together 202 runs with Phoebe Litchfield scoring 84 runs off 72 balls.
With the win, Australia qualified for the semi-finals with two games remaining. But the focus was on Healy, who became the first player to score hundreds in two different editions of the Women’s World Cup. This was Healy’s fourth Women’s World Cup hundred, the highest by an Australian player.
