N. Kumar, Chairman – Group Corporate Council, Sanmar Group
As a resident of Chennai, I have seen the growth of the city and constantly expand. I remember playing cricket in small sites, watching films in theaters and passing through racing to school.
Like my older brother and former chairman of the Sanmar Group, late N. Sankar, I went to Madras Christian College School. Then I went to Loyola College and then College of Engineering, Guindy.
Today the city buzzes cars, which made cycling unpredictable; He has fewer theaters and playgrounds to enjoy. Real estate prices increased so much, so I was wondering whether it was land or oil fields. Those days, meals were strange. Today it has become a regular matter and there are many order applications.
Transformation of two arterial roads – ECR and OMR – is a view of the sight. I had a factory in Perungudi and I went there, I would think about just an open space. Today it is difficult for me to see a piece of free ground in the whole section.
However, everything is as beautiful as before, and I would not change anything, nor considered moving out of Madras. By the way, it’s still Madras for my generation.
Still lively modern version of Madras – has a huge potential to achieve higher heights.
