The Cyber Police Station ALUVA had a panic visitor on Friday (June 27, 2025).
The man had his cell phone held as a ticking bomb. When the police tried to calm him down, he expanded the phone to officers who realized that the call was going. Soon it turned out that a man, a native of Aluva, resorted to the police station to avoid now a common online fraud called “virtual arrests”.
It turned out that the fraudster allegedly called him the threat of being booked for an illegal trade, including drug smuggling, performed through the Aadhaar Card. The caller allegedly insisted that the man immediately came online through the video call and created his card Aadhaar, Mr. Card and bank account.
He even reportedly received an alternative possibility of surrender to the nearest police station, in which case the caller said, the officers would arrest it and make it in Delhi. At that moment, the man plunged himself at the cyber station.
The policeman took over and initially pretended to be a victim. The caller allegedly continued his threat and demanded money. When the officer said he was outside, the caller asked him to return home immediately and went through an online video call in a closed room.
The officer then began to ask questions that the caller probably sensed and fled after the call was disconnected. Attempts to contact the number, including a video call, failed when they returned the message that the phone was turned off.
Police sent a man who apparently relieved after he taught him that there was nothing called virtual arrests.
