In the coordinated operation, Wanaparthy police and regional narcotic control cells (RNCC) Nizamabad and Mahabubnagar, under the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB), forbidden 500 grams of alprazolam, forbidden psychic remedies.
The bust was performed during the hidden operation on the Agriculture Market in Pebbair, Wanaparthy, where they were charged in the act. The accused were identified as Bhaskar Goud, 42, from the village of Thummalapalli and Ediga Zarasimha Goud, 31, from the Gadwal district. The duo was detained when attempting to transfer a narcotic substance, which is five times above the “commercial quantity” threshold under the NDPS Act.
An officer from the Bureau said that the main accused, Narasimha Goud, has traded alprazolam over Gadwal, Pebbair and Kurnool over the past five years. “He attempted a substance from his contacts in Kurnool, including Ediga Gopal Goud, Edigy Jagadish Goud and Harshawardhan Goud, for 2.8 Lakh per kg and sold it for £ 4 for kg.
The substance was obtained in transparent packets containing yellowish powder, later confirmed as an alprazolam for forensic analysis. Source, says the police, includes a suspicious name Ramakrishn of Anantapore, who remains freedom.
Further TGANB investigation has revealed a larger network of secret pharmaceutical units illegally producing alprazolam across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. The key accused, Amar Singh Dehmukh, Chemical PhD, operated laboratories supplying traders and Toddy.
Tganb urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious narcotic or toddy related activity through an unconditional line from 1908 or by e-mail at tsnabho-yd@tspolice.gov.in. All tips will be treated intimately and credible informants will be rewarded.
