The Government approved the Starlink permission after the Company has agreed to observe domestic laws, including the security conditions that they prohibit them from copying and decrypting data abroad and mirroring Indian user traffic in any system established abroad,
The Minister said PTI that the safety conditions of the satellite roads are loaded to set up the gates of earthly stations in India by which the road from satellite is directed to users.
He said that the Ministry of Telecommunications (DOT) granted Starlink Satellion Communications Private Limited after the US company agreed to the set conditions of the UL, a unified license (UL).
“Security conditions, inter-alia, include the establishment of gateway (those) in India for providing communication services based on a satellite without transmission of users from or intended for India, which should be directed through any gateway located outside India, without copying and decrypting Indian data outside the country.
He also stated that the telecommunications department required the Telecom Regulators Authority India (Trai) on the conditions of the Spectrum assignment, including the Spectrum prices, for the provision of satellite communication services that were received on 9 May.
“Satellite -based communication services are the upcoming area and, as any new economic activity would do, it is also expected to generate employment in the country, as included, inter alia, the installation, operation and maintenance of the telecommunications network, including the user terminal device,” added the Minister.
