Elaborate arrangements have been made for the 77th Republic Day celebrations, which will be organized for the first time in the capital Amaravati area. The state government is all set to host the celebrations on January 26, 2026 (Monday) in the region which is being developed with world-class infrastructure.
Governor S. Abdul Nazeer will attend the celebrations as the chief guest. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, ministers, High Court judges and farmers who parted with their land for the capital city project will be among the distinguished guests.
On January 24, 2026 (Saturday), the dress rehearsal for the Republic Day parade was held spectacularly.
Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta and Principal Secretary General Administration J. Shyamala Rao inspected the arrangement. The DGP received a guard of honor from Parade Commander R. Sushmith, ASP, Jangareddygudem and unfurled the tricolor.
Contingents of Indian Army, AP Special Police, CRPF, Kerala Armed Police, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Youth Red Cross and other organizations participated in the rehearsal and performed disciplined marches and band performances.
A total of 22 paintings highlighting various developmental and social initiatives of the state government were exhibited. These depicted themes like zero poverty, population management, skills and employment, water security, farm and agriculture technology, global best logistics, cost optimization in energy, product excellence, Swachh Andhra and Deep Tech in all spheres of life.
Guntur District Collector A. Thameem Ansariya, Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal, Joint Collector Ashutosh Srivastava and senior officials attended the exam.
