
George Kurian’s State Minister for Minority Affairs said that the Union Government provides Keral 1 18 754 tons of food each month.
This includes 69,831 tons of rice and 15,629 tonnes of wheat according to the National Food Safety Act.
On Tuesday, which deals with the media in Kochi, Mr. Kurian added that in addition to the regular monthly assignment, the center assigned a permit to deliver a six -month amount of rice in advance and during special occasions like Onam like Onam.
Referring to the public distribution system (PDS) in Kerala, the Minister of Trade Union claimed that all rice distributed through rationing trades in the state is “Modi Rice”. “There is no single grain of rice that would be distributed through a PD that is financed or supplied by the state government of Pinaraya Vijayan,” he said.
The Minister responded to the criticism of the main minister, who accused the PDS weakening center in the state.
He also claimed that all development and social initiatives currently in the state are either fully or partially funded by the Union’s government. “This support is not an act of charity, but people’s right. Therefore, we never use these schemes to win votes,” added Mr. Kurian.
