
Tourism Minister PA Mohammed Riyas announced on Tuesday that all PWD roads in the state will soon be upgraded to bituminous macadam and bituminous concrete (BM BC). He said that 60% of the 30,000 km of the PWD network has already been upgraded.
He spoke Killiyalam-Vamanjoor-Banam-Kmmadam and the reconstructed bridge over the Kilialam Canal after the opening of the renovated road. The 10 km long section was expanded to 10 meters and the new bridge was completed using the Council Funds for the Kerala Investment Fund.
Mr. Riyas attributed the team monitoring of the constituency created in all 140 installation segments to speed up road renovation projects throughout the state. The Minister described this project as a “gift” to the Kanhangada constituency, which coincides with the fourth anniversary of the state government.
The improved section goes through Kinanoor-Karinthalam and Kodom Belur Panchayats. The project included strengthening of the substrate, BM BC and the construction of drainage and culverts.
Schérii was chaired by E. Chandrasekharan, MLA. Among the dignitaries present were Rajmohan UNITHAN, MP, M. Rajagopalan, MLA and Panchayat District President Balakrishnan. Panchayat and political leaders of different parties and departments participated.
