All private schools, residential and junior colleges must participate in the Haritha Vidyalaya rating initiative

Director of State Project Samagra Shiksha has invited all private management schools, residential colleges and high schools in Telangana to participate in Swachh Evam Haritha Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2026-27 initiative.

The national school evaluation framework launched by the Ministry of Education SHVR aims to promote cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, environmental sustainability and a healthy learning environment in all educational institutions.

As part of the program, schools are required to register and log in to the portal https: //shvr. education.gov.in/ and fill the self-assessment form. The assessment parameters include subcategories such as water, toilet, hand washing with soap, operations and maintenance, behavior change and capacity building, and activities in mission life, with a total score of 125 points.

The SHVR assessment is a mandatory program for all schools with a valid UDISE+ code.

District Education Officers (DEOs), as part of the Prashast 2.0 initiative, a school-based disability screening tool, are also to issue instructions to all field workers to enable screening of children with special needs to identify children with potential disabilities.

The DEO must ensure that all teachers have access to the Prashast portal and learn and perceive disabilities to identify signs of potential disabilities in the screening process.
