“All Congress members, including ministers, legislators, leaders and workers, will accept the party high command’s decision to change leadership,” minister and Congress leader Laxmi Hebbalkar said in Belagavi on Tuesday.
“We are all determined to abide by the High Command’s decision on this matter. However, we have been asked not to talk about it. It will not only be wrong to talk about it, but it will also be an unforgivable crime,” she told reporters.
She was speaking at the launch of Akka Pade, a women’s police team dedicated to protecting women and girls.
Ms. Hebbalkar said she had asked the officers to find a permanent solution to water shortage problems in some areas in Belagavi, a district that receives more rainfall than other districts.
“We will put them in place so that people are not inconvenienced this summer,” she said.
She said she is requesting the state government to create Belagavi rural taluk. She added that she is working to build a bus stand at Hire Bagevadi village, which has now been upgraded from a gram panchayat to a town panchayat.
