
The SC/ST Special Court found on Thursday that all 11 accused of murdering Sudheesh, youth in Potoncode four years ago to be guilty of a crime. The court will express a quantum of punishment on Wednesday.
The scary incident gripped the public attention after one of the accused infamously interrupted the victim’s leg and threw him on the road in daylight.
Judge A. Shajahan has delivered the accused person of the accused person, Sudheesh aka Sudar, Rajesh aka Ottakam Rajesh, Nidehesh, Nandeesh, Sreenwith, Suraj, Arnu, Jishnu and Sachin.
The gang murdered the 32 -year -old Sudheesh, who came from Lakshamveed Colony in Chembakamangalam, near Kalloor in Pothecode, December 11, 2021.
According to the prosecution led by the prosecutor T. Geen Kumari, the crime was rooted in the personal hostility transmitted by the rivalry of the gangs that existed in the region. The attack was organized by a retaliation against Sudheesh, who previously attacked Sudheesh Unni and his family members. In a terrible revenge, a gang led by the third accused Ottakam Rrakesh, watched the victim that was hiding in a relative’s house, attacked him with deadly weapons in the presence of his relatives.
Sudheesh Unni, the main accused, then cuts the victim from his foot and threw her on the road before he escaped. Ottakam Rajesh, a hardened criminal with a record of involvement in several cases of murder, was described as a championship as a carefully planned murder.
After the murder, Rajesh went to the hiding place and often changing places from Kanyakumari to Palani when he contacted his relatives and friends using mobile phones of acquaintances he met during the escape. Despite these challenges, Pothencode police traded over 100 calls and tower data to eventually zero on their stay. The breakthrough came when the accused used a borrowed phone in a medical store in Palani.
During the pursuit of the accused, the 27 -year -old police officer of the Civic Police drowned Balu after the rural ship carried him and several others were overwhelmed in Lake Anjuthung near Vakkom, where Rajesh was hidden.
The investigation team led by Nedumangad Dysp MK Zulfikar presented the final defendant within 88 days.
The prosecution faced a significant obstacle during the trial after several eyewitnesses became hostile. However, key scientific evidence, including CCTV shots, proved to be helpful in demonstrating a crime.
