Alappuzha recorded about 73.76% voter turnout in local elections on Tuesday.
Voting was peaceful and largely incident-free, except for minor technical problems in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), which were resolved without delay. The overall voting percentage in Alappuzha panchayat district was around 73.49%. Among the municipalities, Cherthala recorded the highest voter turnout of approximately 80.97%. Mavelikara had the lowest voting percentage of 64.89.

Thykkattussery recorded the highest participation of 82.3% among block panchayats. Chengannur recorded the lowest polling of 67.59%, according to official estimates available around 7:00 pm. Signs of fast voting were evident as long queues were visible from the early hours. The overall voting percentage was about 34.21% at noon. It rose to about 63.11% by 4 p.m.
Total turnout in municipalities: Alappuzha 65.99%, Haripad 71.39%, Kayamkulam 72.33%, Mavelikkara 64.89%, Chengannur 65.59% and Cherthala (80.97%).
