The Aksharakoot literary festival will be organized every year under the umbrella of the General Education Department, said the Minister of General Education V. Sivankutty.
He spoke after the first issue of the two -day festival here on Thursday.
The Minister said the festival will provide a platform for new young writers every year and promotes their talent.
The festival organized by the State Institute for Educational Technologies (Siet) at various places in Kanakakkunn, Jawahar Bal Bhavan and Manvila included an exhibition of books written by children, literary workshops for them and interactions with prominent writers.
The Minister said that every book exhibited at the festival was read by teachers who are also recorded by the writers and their observations. Students would discuss these books in the presence of their mentors’ teachers and submit their analysis in front of the audience.
