Former Chief Minister UTTAR Pradesh and leader Samajwadi (SP) Akhilesh Yadav said that the center should refrain from unnecessary interference with state affairs and adhere to the spirit of federalism and respond to the challenge of Tamil over for more autonomy.
“There should be no discrimination of any state. The architects of our constitution have created a federal system after careful reasoning. This federal structure must be respected without any unfounded intervention,” Yadav said.
Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister of MK Stalin (April 15, 2025), announced the creation of a three -member committee at a high level to review the constitutional provisions regulating relations between the center state and recommending measures to strengthen state autonomy and federalism.
The SP leader remembered his tense relationship with the Governor Uttar Pradesh during his time as the main minister. “Everyone had to follow a recent case concerning the role of Governor Tamil Nadu, who went to the Supreme Court. At that time we had a governor who, although he has no jurisdiction, would blame me for appointment.
He said that in the budget provisions for Uttar Pradesh there was a clear reflection of discrimination, which sends the maximum number of lawmakers to parliament.
“I don’t know much about the concept of the” double engine “in Odisha. But the center and the Uttar Pradesh do not share a healthy relationship – they often conflict. I believe that the center should not interfere with the affairs of individual states, “Yadav said.
The SP leader also shared the concerns of the main ministers from South India on the question of definition.
“The center should not continue to start the definition process until the people’s proper census is carried out. Concern by the main ministers of the southern states are completely valid. It is likely that the Bharatiya Janata Government will investigate ways to define the way that serves its election interests,” Yadav said.
In the National Herald case, Mr. Yadav, he said that Congress itself seized ED in the national herald case, despite the objections of several political parties about its extensive authority.
“At that time, we warned the Congress that the law they were introducing them could eventually land them,” said the leader SP, adding, “I cannot speak for other states, but in the Maharashtra, no leader against the BJP, was spared agencies such as ED, () income tax) or CBI
“As for the National Herald case, I think ED as an agency should be canceled. I call on Congress to take the lead to close ED,” Yadav said.
