AISF protests ‘irregularities’ in the evaluation of CBSE answer scripts
Activists of the All India Students’ Federation (AISF) staged a protest outside the CBSE regional office in Vijayawada on Tuesday, condemning alleged irregularities in the digital evaluation of exam answer scripts. The leaders demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him morally responsible for the controversy.
Addressing the gathering, AISF state general secretary Bandela Nasser expressed outrage over allegations of irregularities in CBSE’s digital assessment process that surfaced in the month following the paper leak controversy.
Citing examples of students complaining that their answer scripts were not re-evaluated properly, he accused the central government of playing with the future of millions of students.
He alleged that the lack of transparency in the on-screen marking system has eroded students’ confidence in CBSE.
Federation Vice President Sai Kumar said CBSE has completely shifted from traditional manual marking to a fully digital on-screen grading system this year. While the new technology was promoted as a faster and more transparent method, several technical issues were reported, including blurry scans, missing pages, portal crashes and service disruptions caused by heavy traffic.
He criticized the Center, arguing that it operates in the interests of legal entities and has not prevented repeated disputes related to investigations.
