The leaders of the Federation of Students of the whole India (AISF) opposed the government’s decision to move students to Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) IIit Ongole Campus to another place.
On Thursday on Thursday, Vice President AISF M. Sai said that after he was unable to pay the waiting accounts for the rent, the government closed the campus and caused great inconvenience to students and their parents. Since October 2019, the RGUKT IIIT ONGOLA and NAIDA COLLEGE Campus in Ongola has operated. The building is covered by 1.65 square lak and the government paid 15 lakh per month for renting to carry out classes, he said.
Mr. Sai said that building administration had issued a notice of eviction and demanded that the premises be released because the government has not paid rent in the last eight months. The Federation Head added that building administration faced challenges for delayed payments. This owes around 4 Crore in the real estate tax of the city corporation and has not been able to deal with financial pressure to ask for space to relax.
He said that instead of paying the waiting accounts and continuing classes, the government allegedly decided to completely release the building and move the campus operation elsewhere. Mr Sai said that approximately 1,300 secondary students of engineering students who are currently studying that they have been proposed to be moved to the SS in Ongola, and students who join this academic year were proposed to be accommodated in Campus IIIT in IDUPULAPAYA (RK Valley) and Nuzvid.
Mr. Sai demanded that the courses continue the existing campus and stated that the federation would be forced to organize nationwide protests if their request did not get rid of.
