
Air officer commanding Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Vice President Vikas Sharma discussed civic military cooperation and regional development with Ladakh LG Kavinder Gupta, Defense spokesman (September 5, 2025).
The meeting focused on strengthening synergy between civil administration and the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Ladakh, especially in strategic readiness, disaster management, infrastructure development and good living conditions of the local population.
“AOC together with Air Commodore Sanjay PraBhu, command of the Air Officer, Air Force Lem, he met Lieutenant Governor Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, and discussed important points of agenda related to civil cooperation and regional development,” the spokesman said.
Vice Marshal Sharma and Air Commodore PraBu assured LG ongoing cooperation in all matters of strategic and humanitarian significance, said Raj Bhawan, a spokesman for Raj Bhawan.
They also emphasized the ongoing IAF efforts to increase logistics support and maintain operational readiness in the Union.
LG appreciated the essential role played by IAF to protect borders, support civil administration during emergencies and ensuring connectivity in distant areas of Ladakh.
He repeated the commitment of administration closely to work with IAF to strengthen national security and accelerate developmental initiatives in the region.
The AOC had a detailed interaction with the commanding officer, 14 churches focusing on common operations, the development of border infrastructure and connectivity in the Ladakh area, the defense spokesman said.
The visit reaffirmed the IAF commitment to strengthen its operating skills and cultivate cooperation with civil administration and sister services, he said.
The visit also emphasized the importance of Ladakha as a strategically critical area, which required a common effort to ensure the security and stability of the region.
Air Vice Marshal Sharma was on a four -day visit to Ladakh.
