Air quality management Commission introduced a phase and action plan of a graded reaction with an immediate effect in response to deteriorating air quality in Delhi-NCR.

He also added that the action in the existing grap stage must be carried out, monitored and reviewed by all agencies in the entire NCR to ensure that AQI levels do not slip further.
“All implementing agencies will be maintained by a strict vigil and intensify the measures of the existing GRA schedule.

According to GRAP, AQI has four phases: stage I (poor), phase II (very bad), phase III (serious) and phase IV (heavy plus).
Restrictions under threat 1
Some of the key measures ordered in 1 phase of GRAP are –
- Thorough inspections of pollutants, better operation and emission control in industries, power plants and brick furnaces.
2. Forbid open waste combustion, reduce the use of diesel generator and forbid the use of coal or firewood in restaurants.
3. Regular collection of urban solid waste (MSW), construction and demolition (C&D) and hazardous waste from designated landfills, ensuring that no waste is illegally thrown into open areas.
