
Four international and four domestic flights were canceled by Air India, the airline said on Friday. She also shared a list of aircraft that were “canceled due to increased maintenance and operational reasons”.
The affected flights include Dubai, Chennai, Delhi, Melbourne, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Mumbai. These flights were:

- AI874 from Pune to Delhi
- AI456 from Ahmedabad to Delhi
- AI-2872 from Hyderabad to Bombai
- AI571 from Chennai to Bombai
The airline offered full compensation or overparting free of charge and helps passengers with alternative travel plans.
“We regret the inconvenience caused by passengers. Our colleagues on Earth are making alternative measures for them to fly to their relevant destinations first,” the statement read.
“Full compensation for cancellation or free of charge was offered to passengers,” he added.
The airline also advised passengers to check their flight status on their website or call the customer care numbers.
“Given the continuing improved checks of our aircraft, airspace restrictions and bad weather we expect some disturbances that will be properly communicated to passengers. Passengers are required to check the status of their flights or call our customer center at 011 69329333, 011 69329999.
Earlier Thursday, Air India said it will reduce flights on various international routes a week and temporarily suspend operations on three routes from 21 June to 15 July 2025.
“Further to the press release published yesterday, June 18, 2025, which announced a temporary reduction in the services operated by the Boeing 787 and 777, we want to provide details of the affected years. This reduction will be effective from June 21, 2025 and the last until July 15, 2025,” said the airline X.
“The reduction arises from the decision to voluntarily make increased security checks before the flight and also adapt the further duration of the flight resulting from the closure of the Airspace in the Middle East. The aim is to restore the schedule stability and minimize the last minute inconvenience for passengers,” she said.
Air India’s Flying Crash
The development came after the flight Air India 171 crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport.
