
Air India Flying Crash: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-Led has set up a high-level committee investigating the accident of Aviation India, which killed 241 people aboard near Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat 12 June.
The Committee shall explore the existing standard operational procedures (SOP) and instructions issued to prevent and address these events and propose comprehensive instructions for solving these cases in the future, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said.
All passengers-with an exception to the Air India’s flight at London Gatwick Airport, which crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad Airport of Gujarat 12 June in the afternoon.
There were 242 passengers and crews on board, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British, seven Portuguese nationals and one Canadian. One passenger, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a British national of Indian origin, miraculously survived the accident.
Report in three months
The Committee will not be a replacement for other questions carried out by the relevant organizations, but will focus on the formulation of the SOP to prevent and solve such events in the future.
“The Committee will have access to all records, including flight data, voice recorders of cockpit, aircraft maintenance records, ATC logos and testimony,” the ministry said.
The Committee will publish its report within three months.
The government said the panel would be at the head of the domestic secretary and will include representatives of the state and central governments, not under the rank of common secretary.

The panel will consist of Home Secretary and Secretary or Joint Secretary of the Home Affairs Ministers, Secretary of Civil Aviation, Representative from Gujarat Home Department (DG), Inspection and Safety of the Indian Air Force, DG of Bureau of Civil Aviation, DG of the Aviation Regulatory General of Civil Aviation, Special Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Director of Forensic Sciences.
“It will assess contributing factors, including mechanical failure, human errors, weather conditions, compliance with regulations and other reasons,” the command read.
According to the government order, the jury will assess the response to the emergencies of various parties (both central and state governments), including rescue operations and coordination between them. It examines existing instructions on solving such incidents and reviews records of previous such failure aircraft in the country.
The order stated that the panel would also formulate the “complex SOP” and propose the roles of all agencies and organizations of central and state governments to deal with the processing of incidents and the administration administration after twisting.
The order stated that the panel will propose changes to the principles, operational improvements and improvement of training to avoid such events and processing situations after the shorter.
