Air India A1357 acting from Tokyo to Delhi was diverted into Calcutta on Sunday, June 29, due to the persistent warm temperature in the cabin.
The aircraft landed safely in Calcutta and is currently undergoing checks, Air India spokesman said.
Flight AI357-Boeing 787 operating from Tokyo Haneda Airport to Delhi was diverted in the middle of the road after the crew reported the “persistent warm temperature” inside the cab. The decision was taken as a preventive measure to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers, Air India said.
“Our colleagues in Calcutta provide passengers with all the necessary support to minimize the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen diversion. First, an alternative arrangement to fly our passengers is carried out.
We regret the inconvenience caused by our passengers, ”the airline said in its statement.
Air India flight disruption
Sunday’s flight disruption means the second such incident in the span of one day. Yesterday 28th June Air India bound to Chennai returned to Bombai after the burning smell came from the cabin of the plane.
