Air India Express from Delhi to Srinagar via Jammu returned to its original airport before landing on Monday (23 June 2025) in the afternoon, the officials said.
A airline spokesman said the flight had returned to Delhi as a preliminary measure after a suspicion of “GPS” interference and an alternative aircraft was later provided to passengers to achieve their goal.
The officials said IX-2564 was to land in Jamm around noon before going to Srinagar, but floating above Jamm Airport Sometimes before his pilot decided to return to Delhi without landing.
The weather and the runway were clear, but it seems that the pilot could not find a suitable landing space, they said.
“Our Delhi – Jammu flight has returned to Delhi as a preventive measure after a suspected incident in GPS interference. Subsequently, an alternative flight was organized that joined guests with Jammu,” said Air India Express spokesman.
“We regret the inconvenience caused. Operators give examples of GPS interference in flying in certain sensitive regions,” the spokesman added.
