The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen launched its Telangana civic election campaign with party president Asaduddin Owaisi campaigning for the party’s candidates in Tandur.
Mr. Owaisi’s campaign is backing 15 candidates that the party has fielded for the Tandur town election. The Hyderabad MP interacted with party workers, supporters and members of the public across constituencies.
Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Owaisi said the party cadre was delighted with AIMIM’s performance in the Maharashtra civic polls, where workers and legislators campaigned extensively on the ground. Drawing a parallel with cricket, he said, “Elections are like cricket matches. While good performances from the past can be acknowledged, every election is a new match in which to start again.”
