The All India (AIFF) Football Federation formally started searching for a new head coach for the senior national football team, days after the sudden departure Spanish Manolo Marquez. The stakeholders must submit their requests by July 13, while the Federation presents a detailed set of criteria and expectations of the other.
Marquez, who only took the lead last year, has divided after a unsatisfactory number of results with AIFF under mutually agreed conditions. The 56 -year -old man remains on his contract. Its departure comes at a time when Indian football is under growing control, while fans and parties require more responsibility and strategic direction.
According to the job description published AIFF, the incoming coach will report to the Secretary General and will work in Tandem with the Technical Director, Director of the National Team and other departments. The umbrella goal for appointment will be “to ensure that the national team wins the maximum number of matches and competitions in which they participate”.
At least 10 to 15 years of experience in coaching for elite youth and the senior level was mandatory. Preferences will be provided to those who led higher national teams and participated in the World Cup or Continental Championship. A AFC/UEFA Pro license or equivalent is required, along with previous experience with playing-if not at the highest national level.
This time, however, AIFF also places strong emphasis on soft skills. Another coach is expected to prove “cultural sensitivity”, effective communication with the media and sponsors, and the ability to follow the relations with the participating parties of the Federation-including the President of Kalyan Chaubey and the Technical Commission. It seems that this is a lesson of stormy holding and Marquez, during which tension outside the field often made subtitles.
“During the interview, it will be decided on length and remuneration,” AIFF said, adding that the candidates may be asked to perform a presentation or attend an interview within the final selection procedure.
With Indian football at the intersection, another head coach will not only be entrusted with tactical transformation on the pitch, but also with the support of stability and confidence.
