
New Delhi: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Thursday granted Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) and Kerala Blasters a three-day extension till April 5 (Sunday) to pay the first participation fee of the 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL) season. According to the revised financial model shared with the clubs, each club was to pay Rs 30 million by March 5, another Rs 30 million between March 28 and April 4 and Rs 20 million by May 1.

ISL commercial rights: AIFF gets two different offersThe AIFF has reminded clubs that failure to pay the full amount, including a fine of 1,000 rupees per day, may result in “disqualification of the club from participation”.In an early communication on the matter, the AIFF said it will issue a disqualification notice to the club(s) if payments are not made for seven days. If no payments are made within the next four days, the club(s) will be disqualified from next season’s ISL.“For every day of delay from the due date till actual payment, a penalty of Rs.1,00,000/- will be charged. After seven days of continuous non-payment, AIFF will issue a disqualification notice to the club. Failure to rectify within four days from the date of such notice, the club will be deemed to be disqualified from participating in the next season, which AIFF will communicate to I14 next season.” ISL clubs.The AIFF also clarified that their decisions “shall be final, binding and non-appealable”.A review of the financial model saw the AIFF’s contribution to the league’s running costs rise from Rs 9.7 crore to zero. The federation, which runs the ISL this season, has reported a revenue shortfall of Rs 25.9 crore in its audited statements for 2024-25.Following the exit of Reliance subsidiary FSDL in December 2025, AIFF is running the show without the annual Rs 50 crore it received as commercial rights. The governing body hopes to secure a new partner for the next 15-20 years, with the bidding process closing on March 26.
