The All India (AIFF) Football Federation will organize a decisive meeting with the main leaders of the Indian Super League (ISL) clubs in Nový Delhi on Thursday, August 7 in Nový Delhi. The development comes after the Isl 2025-26 season, which was suspended by the organizers, Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), due to the uncertainty surrounding the renewal of the main rights agreement (MRA) with the National Federation.
The 15 -year MRA between AIFF and FSDL – commercial and marketing partner AIFF – will be expired on 18 December this year. However, the Federation was limited from negotiating new conditions until the Supreme Court declared its judgment on the case of the AFF Constitution.
“AFF officials will meet with the CEOs of the Eight Indian Clubs of Super League on Thursday, August 7, 2025 in Nový Delhi to discuss issues concerning #indianfootball,” the Federation published on social media.
In a letter addressed by the AIFF clubs, the lack of communication from the Federation and FSDL was not inability to adequately plan the new season. They warned that the absence of clarity began to influence the structural spine by their institutions.
“This has not only influenced short -term decisions, but now begins to influence the structural backbone of our institutions,” he read the letter.
The letter was signed by Bengaluru FC, Jamshedpur FC, FC Goa, Hyderabad FC, Kerala Blasters, Northeast United FC, Odisha FC and Punjab FC. Clubs based in Kolkata – Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting – together with Mumbai City FC and Chennaiyin FC did not sign a common representation.
The clubs called for the “constructive dialogue” with the AIFF to deal with the predominant uncertainties and to protect the interests of all parties involved.
On July 11, FSDL announced that the new Isl season was placed “suspending”, surrounding the surroundings of MRA. The highest league, which usually takes place from September to April, is the cornerstone of the Indian domestic football calendar and a vital source of employment for thousands of sport ecosystem.
President AIFF Kalyan Chaubey earlier assured that the league would continue this season, even if he has refrained the final start date.
“If the league does not happen, it is not only footballers, but also people who are associated with football that will be influenced. They are thousands of people who will be influenced. So we will make our best efforts to ensure that the league happens,” Chaubey said.
As AIFF is waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision, Thursday’s session is expected to be a key moment to determine whether a temporary solution can be achieved to ensure the continuation of the Isl in the coming season.
